Love is in the air .... February ... the month of LOVE

February is the month for love.  I am using that theme to show how you can improve the sales in your business by loving people more.

Improving sales to me means:

  • Ensuring your current clients feel loved so they are happy and referral ready
  • Selling new things to clients that they will love
  • Meeting potential new clients who you can show love to
  • Converting those potentials into clients who love you … go back to the top and repeat

How to show your clients love!

Get to know them:

How many personal things do you know about your client?   This may sound like a silly question, but there is method in my madness.  People tell personal things to those that they like and trust.  They are happy to share things that are going on in their lives. The good, the bad and the ugly.

People buy from people they like and trust.  So if they are telling you personal information, this means that they like and trust you - so they are more likely to buy from you!

Have you ever met someone that you think is PERFECT!  Never a hair, word or anything out of place.  I celebrate them … but tell me … how likely are you to tell them something that you stuffed up, a mistake that you made?  Not very – right?

The truth is, none of us are perfect.  But we think that is what other people want to see.  Actually people relate much better to you if you are YOU.  Honest, open and real about all the wondrous, funny, gritty and down right revolting things that happen to you in life and business.

Show you are there to help

Now you are out showing everyone how much you love them – let’s add some business substance to this.

If you are loving clients with businesses … then add a quarterly (six monthly or annual) visit (or phone call).  In this visit use these ideas:

  • Share with them what you have been working on and learned since you last spoke
  • Share with them what you are looking forward to in the next period
  • Ask them what they have been working on and learned since you last spoke
  • Ask them what they are looking forward to in the next period
    • SEE where you can help
    • ASK if you can help
    • THANK them for their business
    • ASK for a referral of someone else you would be able to help

 

If you are loving clients in a retail or personal setting, then here are some ideas for you to show the love in your business:

  • Send them a birthday card & gift related to your business (voucher for your business)
  • Send them something to say thank you
  • Use a newsletter to share information on what you are doing, learned and looking forward to
  • Ask your customers what they want, where they are having trouble and or seeing opportunities.
    • SEE where you can help
    • ASK if you can help
    • THANK them for their business
    • ASK for a referral of someone else you would be able to help
